Children / Family - Free Event - Workshops
Children use streets as an extension of their house to play with their friends, walk to school, accompany their parents for grocery trips, enjoy a walk with their pets and to spot bees and insects.
Children see and experience things and environments differently. They are not bound by the rules which may act as a barrier towards creative imagination. It is important to hear their voices, what they have to say and experience.
This workshop aims to engage children (6 - 11 yrs old) through interactive sessions to express their vision for the neighbourhood streets. It will allow the children to explore the things they wished were there to make the streets more playful, fun and accessible. This workshop will not only create awareness among children to be involved in community but also impacts the entire ecosystem that revolves around children, including parents, care-givers, their peers, educators and local communities.
We intend to conduct an in-person interactive workshop (with role-play, drawing and model-making) with children accompanied by one parent/carer, making it an inclusive and playful family-oriented session.
